Versatile 2018 NY Forward KAITLYN DOWNEY is becoming very Popular

6’1″ class of  2018  forward KAITLYN DOWNEY from Hastings on the Hudson, NY (  Maria Regina H.S.  ) has become very popular with college coaches on the East Coast over the last few months.

This VERSATILE, strong, gritty prospect with a sweet shooting stroke has to be accounted for behind the Arc, while also doing damage consistently from the FT line down. She comfortably handles the ball with dexterity in the open court and is a legitimate playmaker with her Passing acumen from the high post. In 2016 seemingly every college program wants a versatile power forward that is a tough cover / matchup for opponents and can space the floor with consistent 3pt shooting capacity.  This young lady surely represents that.

She reminds me a bit in skill set, playing style, body type, toughness and IQ to 2016 All American Erin Boley  ( Notre Dame ). I am not claiming Kaitlyn is all American caliber like Erin was… but from where I sit she will bring a college program a similar type player… and apparently a similar type student and person off the court. Which is very high praise !

Kaitlyn is a standout as well in the classroom with a 98 GPA, taking Honors & AP courses.

She runs with the Empire State Basketball Club for AAU events.

currently she has 13 Division 1 scholarship OFFERS from among :

Iona, Fordham, Northeastern, Rhode Island, Manhattan, Holy Cross, Bowling Green, St. Bonaventure, Sacred Heart, St. Josephs, Dayton, Florida Atlantic , Hofstra

other programs recruiting her include :

Villanova, Princeton, George Washington, Marist, Bucknell, Davidson, Brown, American, Richmond

Certainly expecting those lists to grow in volume over the next 12 months.
